Average Weather
Florida has a subtropical climate with hot, humid summers (highs 88-92°F in July/Aug) and mild winters (lows 44-50°F in Jan), varying slightly by region, with the south warmer and north cooler; expect lots of sunshine, high humidity, and heavy summer rains with thunderstorms, while late fall/early spring (Nov-May) offers lower humidity and minimal rain, ideal for visiting.
Currency
The official currency is the US Dollar. Most hotels, restaurants, and larger shops will happily take major credit cards, but it's always a good idea to have some local cash on hand for small purchases at local stalls or for tipping.

Transportation Options
Getting around Florida is an adventure in itself, For the ultimate flexibility, you can hire a car, but be prepared for some spirited driving and remember they drive on the right! Taxis are readily available at hotels and tourist spots, but be sure to agree on the fare before you start your journey. Most resorts in the Orlando are offer shuttles to the main attractions, you can even get around on local buses.

Visiting the Parks?
There are many attractions in the Orlando area, which are easy to reach, Disney, Universal, Seaworld, Discovery Cove and many more, we recommend a car for the freedom, and options to visit less known attractions like the Titanic Museum, and getting to some amazing diners! You can even head over to Miami or Fort Lauderdale to explore, or hop on a Caribbean Cruise!
Many resorts do offer free shuttles to and from the parks, if driving isn't your thing!

You don't have to be stuck in one place, you can split your holiday, maybe 7 nights near the parks and 7 nights away near a beach, or perhaps a crazy week at the parks and a cruise around the Caribbean?

Don't Just Stick to the parks!
There is so much more to Florida than just the main attractions, there are so many more places to explore, visit a local supermarket! they all have Florida guides inside the doors, highlighting things you can do, and include a lot of 'coupons', Americans love vouchers or coupons!
Evenings at the Parks
The main parks, always have something on in the evenings, whether it be the amazing shows or fireworks, make sure to check any events are included with your passes, as some events need separate tickets
Thinking of November/December
At the time of writing this, I have been 17 times, and my favourite most economical time to travel, when the queues are low is the last week of November and the first week of December - BONUS you get to see all the parks in their usual format, and then on the 1st December as if by magic they are transformed into Christmas! Kids love seeing both park formats trust me! (Kev - Florida Specialist)
Souvenirs - Handy Hints
Whilst the main parks have lots of souvenirs, you will find on your trips out around international drive and highway 192, that most souvenir shops, usually next to supermarkets and restaurants have an amazing range of souvenirs, and there are always lot of bargains to be had!
